How to Get Backlinks Without Doing Link Exchanges

Time to start building backlinks! This is how you build "authority" with the search engines. The more authority you have, the higher you'll rank for the keywords that are relevant to your site.

There are literally hundreds of different ways to go about this, but I'm going to give you the few most powerful and easiest-to-achieve methods that will help get you top rankings in the search engines the fastest. The two main methods we'll focus on are:

  1. Publishing articles that include a backlink (better known as article marketing)
  2. Getting listed in web directories

Doing those two things alone will really get you moving. But to be at the very top, you'll need a wide variety of links. So there are three additional methods I'll touch on as well:

  1. Social media
  2. Blog commenting
  3. Blog posting
